Cycling Pants

Okay, so now that you’ve decided to become a cycler, it is time to reach out and purchase all of the cycling gear needed. In this particular article, we are going to give you some pointers are choosing the right type of cycling pants for your needs.
The Different Types of Bike Shorts
Basically, there are 2 different types of bike fits – you have those that are lose, then you have those that are tight. The type of cycling pants you choose will all depend on the type of bike riding you plan on doing. If you are riding a mountain bike, then you want to wear the pants that are lose. If you plan on doing some road riding, then wear some spandex. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule – if you plan on racing on your mountain bike, then you will want to wear spandex – if you plan on riding your bike to work, then weary baggy cycling pants.
Bib Shorts – These are biking shorts that have mesh suspenders integrated in them. Individuals who race on their bikes usually choose bib shorts, but they are great for road biking. These shorts are great, because they stay up in the back and do not put a damper on your breathing.
Chamois Type – Cycling pants are recommended for cyclers, because they make the ride comfortable, especially those with nice chamois pads. There are a variety of chamois pads – some have a thicker padding where most of the weight sits on the seat.
What Type of Material is Cycling Pants Made of?
Cycling pants are made out of different types of nylon outer shells and stretchy inner shorts. The material that is inside should support your muscles as it eliminates the sweat. The outer material should be water repellent and durable. When there is more mesh in the upper half of the pants, the cooler you are going to feel. Remember, lighter cycling pants will be cooler.
The Fit
Even though some cycling pants may be stretchy, this doesn’t mean one size fits all, so it is important that you know your size so that you can get the right fit. The leg opening should fit snug around your legs, without riding up your legs or constricting them. For the outer shell, many cyclers prefer an adjustable waistband. Also, make sure you get the length that is right for you – the length is determines by the length of your legs, as well as your riding style. Look at it this way – the more suspension you have on your bike, the longer your cycling pants.
Finding the right cycling pants for you doesn’t have to be hard – when you are out shopping for a nice pair, just take these tips into consideration and you should be able to find a good pair that fits you just right.
